How soon will my Web Hosting account be ready for use after I purchase it?
If you associate your web hosting account with a domain you've owned for at least 48 hours, your web site can go live as soon as you FTP the files to our servers. If you purchase a new domain name and associate your web hosting account with that domain, it may take up to 48 hours before the domain name will resolve to your web site.
Will I have unlimited access to update my web site?
Yes, you will be able to update your web site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
I already have a domain at YouStart. Can I use it with your Web Hosting? What are the steps?
Yes, you can use an existing domain name with your Web Hosting account.
To set up host records for your domain name:
- In the YouStart page for your Web Hosting account, click "Launch Hosting Control Panel".
- In the control panel menu, click "web sites" and then click "domains".
- In the "Domain Name" text box, type the domain name you want to associate, and click "Add Domain Name".
Your www and @ host headers are automatically created and point to the web hosting root directory of your Web Hosting account (the www directory).
- If you want several web sites, only one home page can be in the www directory. For additional web sites, you must create additional directories and point host records to them.
On the domain association page click "edit" next to each host header, and navigate to the correct directory. Save your changes and see the host header point to the new directory.
- If your domain name is registered with us and in your domain name account, you are done with the setup process.
If your domain name is not registered with us, log in to your domain name account, and go to your DNS management page to create a host record for the www and @ host headers using the paths in the Hosting Control Panel.
Note: For every host header you set up, you must create a corresponding host record.
To simplify host header and host record setup, we encourage you to transfer your domain to us.
How do I manage my Web Hosting account?
We have a Hosting Control Panel for you to manage your hosting account. You can access it from your YouStart account, or by its URL.
Do you place banner advertisements on my web site?
No, we do not place banner advertisements on hosted sites.
What are your content policies for Web Hosting and Web Site Creator?

Is there a minimum time contract/commitment for Web Hosting accounts?
No, you may cancel your account at any time. However, bear in mind that you prepay for Web Hosting, and we will not refund for unused time on your subscription. Please review the hosting agreement for details.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept the following credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
I don't have a credit card. Can I do a wire transfer, or use a check or money order?
No, we do not accept any other forms of payment because the hosting account fee is billed automatically, on a prepaid basis.
Are there any setup fees for Web Hosting?
We are currently waiving all setup fees.
How do I upload my web site?
You can upload your site using FTP or FrontPage.
Do you support Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions?
Yes. For more information on uploading your web site with MS FrontPage, log on to the Hosting Control Panel and view the hosting Help page for more specific information, including server information.
Note that some FrontPage functionality may not be supported. For example, FrontPage’s application for form-email, database update and guestbook may not function properly, and there are restrictions on database modifications. However, all of these tasks can be accomplished with simple ASP scripts.
Do you support Java applets, Shockwave and Flash?
Yes, but make sure that you have sufficient bandwidth for them.
Do you support PHP?
Yes, you can run PHP in our hosting environment.
Do you support streaming audio and video?
No, we don't support streaming audio and video at this time.
Do you support XML (Extensible Markup Language)?
Yes, we support XML.
Do you allow MP3 sites?
Yes, but make sure that you have sufficient bandwidth, that your content does not violate copyright laws, and that you comply with all terms of the hosting agreement.
Do you support ASP (active server pages)?
Yes, we support ASP and ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0. However, there are some restrictions on some server objects, and we do not provide technical support regarding code.
Do you support Adobe ColdFusion?
No, we do not support ColdFusion.
Do you support databases?
Yes, you can use MS Access, SQL Server, FoxPro, or MySQL. Go to the account management page to change your database preferences.
Do you support SSL?
Yes, our web hosting supports SSL.
Only one web site in your web hosting account can have an SSL certificate, and its home page must be in the www directory of your web hosting account.
Can I use custom CGI (Common Gateway Interface) scripts?
Yes, we have ActivePerl 5.8.7.813 and support CGI scripts (pl, pm, cgi)
