What kind of email services do you offer? Which should I get?

We offer three varieties of email services:
-- Email forwarding
-- Email Pro (POP3) attached to a domain name
-- Email Pro (POP3) attached to a Web Hosting account

Email forwarding lets you create email addresses that use your domain name. The emails are forwarded to other, existing email accounts -- for example, a Hotmail or Yahoo address.

Email forwarding is free and faster to set up than Email Pro (our POP3 email product), but doesn't offer a way to send emails from your domain name. For example, if your domain address forwards to a Yahoo address, all emails you send -- including responses to emails that were sent to your domain address -- come from your Yahoo address.

Email Pro -- our POP3 email product -- differs from email forwarding in being a fully functional mailbox; it's not just a pass-through to another address like Hotmail or Yahoo. When you send email or reply to email you've received, it actually comes from your domain email address.

You can purchase Email Pro for either a domain name or a web hosting account. Email Pro for a domain name comes in a 10-mailbox pack associated with a single domain name. Email Pro for a web hosting account is associated with a single web hosting account, which can include several domain names.

How long does it take for an email address to be active?

If you set up email addresses at the same time you purchase a domain, it can take up to 48 hours for the email addresses to work, while the domain name is processed at the Registry.

If you have owned the domain for at least 48 hours, any changes to email addresses will take effect almost immediately.
